The Eggfluetunnel is important for motorized private transport. This 2,790 meter long tunnel is part of the main road 18 (H18) and serves as a bypass around Grellingen. The tunnel was built between 1991 and 1999 and has since relieved the town of through traffic.

The H18 also connects Grellingen to the A18 highway in Aesch, providing a fast connection to the city of Basel
